Lucas Leiva – Behave!!! 0

They say blogs reflect the mood of the writer, so if I come across a bit anti-Lucas Leiva, what a f*king W*nker piece of crap that boy is. Brazilian, the only thing Brazilian about him is his missus Vagine (for full affect say it like Bruno) that’s if he even has one (a missus that is, we all know he has a vagine. F*king girl), he probably has some little Columbian rent-boy locked up in his room who pampers his stupid curly hair while he sups on a bottle of p*ss water, or Brahma Beer as it is known here. (Well that made me feel better. I suppose it could be worse, I could have lost to Burnley or been an Everton fan)

Well on to the important stuff. Girton United that’s what I am here to talk about, the season is underway and just like last year the opening day brought about no goals, but an away point and a clean sheet. It is difficult to gage whether it was a good result or a bad result so early in the season and it is certainly too soon to start making predictions for league positions, but it is important to kick on sooner rather than later and with Hemingford on Wednesday three points would really kick start the season.

First team training tonight should hopefully iron out any of the creases in last week’s performance and like anything practice makes perfect. So often in training we listen and then put the advice into practice on the training pitch:

  • movement
  • communication
  • killer instinct

In contrast on game day it is only seen in sporadic moments or patches and it is the consistency in our play that will see us through the difficult games. Tactics are in play for a reason and it is our job to stick to them, if we do that and it doesn’t work the manager can always change it.

There is no question that we have a talented bunch of players, each with their strengths and also their weaknesses but it is important that we understand all this and play to our strengths and nullify our weaknesses, it is all about understanding your team-mates, and this is why I am very happy that this season we have a winter training facility that will allow us to work on all aspects of our game as individuals and most importantly as a team, I can see the gaffer with his flumps, his marker pen and his A1 sheets of paper devising gruelling training sessions as I write.

On the subject of football management, who would be one? You don’t get to kick-the ball, you can only affect a game through tactics and changes and when it doesn’t go right your week is ruined, but lets be honest we all fancy ourselves as a master tactician or motivator and the guys over at www.championshipmanager.co.uk are offering the 2010 version of their popular game for just a penny! Yep that’s right just a penny! At that price I recommend dipping your toe into the world of football management.

And finally because my friend Lucas (a player I aspire to be nothing like), scored such a wonderful own goal I have searched the web to find some of the best own goals you will ever see.

Enjoy!
